In logic, we call premises the initial ideas of an argument, from which it is possible to reach a conclusion.
What happens is that when one of the premises is false, the conclusion will necessarily be false as well.
Imagine a structure like this, with two premises and a conclusion:
Premise 1: Programming with code is out of reach
Premise 2: To digitize our company, we have to program with code.
Conclusion: Digitising our business is not within our reach
I hope that by now you have realized that this is a false conclusion based on a false premise (the first one).
En lógica, llamamos premisas a las ideas iniciales de un argumento, a partir de las cuales es posible llegar a una conclusión.
Lo que sucede es que cuando alguna de las premisas es falsa, necesariamente la conclusión también lo será.
Imaginemos una estructura como esta, con dos premisas y una conclusión:
Premisa 1: Programar con código no está a nuestro alcance
Premisa 2: Para digitalizar nuestra empresa hay que programar con código
Conclusión: Digitalizar nuestra empresa no está a nuestro alcance
Espero que a estas alturas te hayas percatado que se trata de una conclusión falsa que parte de una premisa (la primera) también falsa.
If you’ve ever been to Rome, you’re sure to have noticed the Pantheon.
The first time I saw it, I was amazed. The grandeur and splendor with which this 2nd-century building stands among the shopping streets of the Italian capital left me speechless.
What struck me most were its columns. If you stand directly in front of it, you will be amazed by the 8 columns that support the frontispiece. Without them, the frontispiece would not stand, nor would it make any sense.
At this point, you may be wondering if we are doing a history lesson.
Not exactly.
And as I guess you can imagine, all this talk about the Pantheon has something to do with Industry 4.0.
Si alguna vez has estado en Roma, te habrás fijado seguro en el Panteón.
La primera vez que lo vi me quedé asombrado. La grandeza y esplendor con la que se alza este edificio del sigo II entre las calles comerciales de la capital italiana, me dejó sin palabras.
Lo que más me llamó la atención fueron sus columnas. Si te sitúas justo enfrente, te asombran las 8 columnas que sustentan el frontispicio. Sin ellas, el frontispicio no aguantaría, ni tendría ningún sentido.
Llegados a este punto, te estarás preguntando si estamos haciendo una clase de historia.
No exactamente.
Y como supongo que te imaginas, todo este discurso sobre el Panteón tiene algo que ver con la Industria 4.0.
