What would the ideal smart factory look like?

Put yourself in the picture.
You’re sitting on the sofa zapping. You’re looking for a Sunday afternoon movie, without too many expectations.
Suddenly, something catches your eye.
You’ve found a film that looks like you’re going to like. It is set in the not too distant future. You look, above all, at a factory. It is a smart factory.
What is this factory like? How do you imagine it?

Why do we talk about digital transformation?

Digital transformation.
Two words that are trending.
Everyone is talking about digital transformation.
You may even have had the feeling that you are starting to get a bit fed up with this concept.
It’s logical.
The truth is that this concept is the protagonist of countless headlines, talks, courses, and studies… And I often have the feeling that there is a certain infoxication (or what amounts to the same thing: information intoxication).
That is why I have recorded today’s video. Because I am one of those who think that less is more.

Industry 4.0 Maturity Levels

If there is one thing I have learned about Industry 4.0, it is that its adoption is neither as simple nor as quick as a snap of the fingers.
Any complex process such as this involves significant time and effort that must be taken into account.
What is certain is that the journey is just as satisfying, if not more so, than reaching the finish line.
Today I’ll tell you what this route is like and what stops you’ll find along the way. My advice is that when you start, try to enjoy the journey, I assure you it is worth it.

Making sense of the data

When we talk about Industry 4.0 we inevitably think of data.
It is true that thanks to the technologies available to us, we can obtain a large amount of data.
But beware, if we are left with just the data and do not go a step further, we have NOTHING.
Why?
Because data is like a diamond in the rough, it’s wonderful to have, but you have to polish it to make it useful.

Industry 4.0: the concentrated essence

Today I am going to talk to you about Industry 4.0, but first let me ask you a question:
Do you also read so much information about something that in the end you are no longer able to discern what is important? Well, there is a name for what is happening to you: infoxication.
The Internet world has many advantages, no doubt about it. One of them is that we have access to all kinds of content immediately.
And that’s fantastic! But this infoxication represents a major disadvantage.
Because what we sometimes need is to simplify, and otherwise, all we achieve by searching and searching on the Internet is to get more confused.

How to ensure the cybersecurity of a factory?

It is said that data is the oil of the 21st century. And no wonder.
The reality is that information is a very precious commodity within some factories and businesses. For this reason, it is essential to take concrete measures to ensure their safety.
This is where we talk about the concept of cyber security. It is by no means a new concept, but the truth is that in recent years there has been a boom in companies that have taken the initiative in this direction.
When we talk about cybersecurity, we refer to the procedures and tools to be implemented to protect the information generated in a company’s devices: from computers and servers to mobile devices, networks, or electronic systems.

The 3 most common uses of IoT

A few days ago a client asked me a question that was not the first time I had been asked. I was listing one by one the advantages of implementing the Internet of Things (IoT) in a company, I admit that at that moment I had caught my breath, it’s a subject I’m passionate about!

Digitalisation VS Industry 4.0

In my day-to-day life, I detect a certain amount of confusion regarding the concepts of digitalization and Industry 4.0. Some people think that they are exactly the same thing and… Nothing could be further from the truth! First of all, it is important to know that when we talk about digitalization we are referring to Industry 3.0 and, therefore, it has nothing to do with Industry 4.0.
