Description
This course aims to provide a practical understanding of the different elements that make up cyber-physical systems applied in the field of Industry 4.0: sensors, embedded systems, low-power communications, and cloud computing.
During the training, a development board from Texas Instruments will be used, which includes various elements such as sensors, microcontrollers, and wireless communications. Additionally, a Raspberry Pi will be used to simulate cloud computing, allowing for receiving, processing, storing, and visualizing data. In this way, the course will involve programming a cyber-physical system and integrating it with a cloud computing system.
The course includes the use of necessary materials, (which will need to be returned at the end of the course). Students will need to bring their own laptop with VMWare Player/Workstation virtualization software installed and a pre-installed virtual machine. Once the registration is complete, the links to download VMWare and the virtual machine will be provided.
The course is aimed at engineers and individuals with no specialized background in electronics, telecommunications, and computer science who are interested in gaining practical knowledge of embedded systems and low-power communications. These are the foundational elements of cyber-physical systems and are applicable in the field of Industry 4.0.

1. Introduction to cyber-physical systems.
2. Embedded systems (sensors, small-to-medium-scale microcontrollers, real-time operating systems).
3. Wireless communication systems (Wi-Fi, LoRa, SigFox, 6TiSCH, and NB-IoT).
4. Cloud computing
5. Hands-on session 1: Sensors + Microcontrollers.
6. Hands-on session 2: Wi-Fi connectivity + cloud.
7. Hands-on session 3: Solution integration.
